Brief Introduction of Eastern Air Logistics in 2017
Eastern Air Logistics Co., Ltd. (EAL), with its headquarter in Shanghai, is a modern integrated logistics service enterprise subordinate to China Eastern Air Holding Company (CEAH). With a mission to become the single most innovative integrated logistics service provider, EAL is dedicated to providing customers around the world with safe, efficient, accurate, fast and overall well-integrated logistics service solutions.
In June 2017, EAL took the lead as the first enterprise that was subjected to pilot reform of mixed ownership in the national civil aviation sector. The company realized shareholding diversification with its shares held by China Eastern Air Holding Co.,Ltd (45%), Legend Holdings (25%), GLP (10%), Deppon Logistics (5%), Greenland Group (5%) and its core employees (10%). EAL started a new chapter in a brand- new form.
EAL has subsidiaries such as China Cargo Airlines Ltd., EAL Express and EAL Transportation, as well as approximately 200 stations and branch offices both domestic and abroad. With over 6,000 employees, EAL is currently the only logistics enterprise in the world that is owned by an airlines and operates its own cargo airlines as well.
EAL has fully functional and structurally balanced strategic capital. One of EAL's unique resource advantages is its ability to provide cargo space on over 600 passenger airplanes and 9 full freighters, coupled with strong domestic and oversea network connecting all global destinations. With Shanghai Hongqiao Airport and Pudong International Airport as its operation bases, EAL owns 6 cargo terminals with ramp side access covering a total area of 1.25 million square meters, including bonded warehouses and cross-border e-commerce model areas. In addition, EAL runs cargo terminals at major airports in Kunming, Xi’an and Beijing where China Eastern Airlines operates as regional hubs.
